DRAMA AS THE ARTEFACT OF THE CULTURE

 



An artifact is something that was made as a historic legacy. Forms of artifacts can be in the form of objects, writings, buildings and works of art. One of the works of art that remains a historical drama. Art drama is a senior who is quite old. Drama first developed in the western world, which originated from Greece and Rome. Forms of stage in the Greek era to form an open stage at a height. Surrounded by visitors' seats which circle the hill, the stage is in the middle. Greek drama is a religious expression in a ceremony called religious. The drama has now been developed all over the world. Drama in this era has been processed in a modern style. Drama also cannot draw from its history which makes drama an artifact. Then why is Drama classified as a cultural artifact?

At the beginning of the appearance of the drama is a picture of life that happened at that time and is directly related to culture. At that time the drama was associated with a worship ceremony for the God of Sheep / Oxen. Before the staging of the drama, there was a sacrificial ceremony for the sheep / bull to Dyonisius and a song called "tragedy". During its development, Dyonisius, who had been an animal deity, turned into a human, and was worshiped as a god of wine and fertility.

According to Balthazar Verhagen, drama is an art that depicts human nature and attitudes with motion. In other words drama is a form or picture of human life that is delivered dramatically.

in Ancient Greek times, drama was a caricature of the grief story with the aim of insinuating the suffering of human life. This shows that drama is not only intended for worship but also to illustrate how life happened at that time which of course is directly related to culture.

 drama plays in Greece generally revolve around tragedies and comedies. And all have a relationship with the ancient world through mythology, Greek gods, Greek empire, religious representation or Greek society and culture. Greek theater will paint a picture of the legendary Greek kingdom.

In conclusion, drama in ancient Greece was usually a representation of life in its time. Usually played in conjunction with traditional ceremonies or when going to make offerings to the gods accompanied by slaughtering sheep. Until now drama is still often shown. And must always be maintained. Because drama is tied to the important history of the world.
